The project titled "Development of a Wooden Biscuit Production System and Determination of Some Physical and Mechanical Properties of Biscuits to be Produced with this System", which will be carried out by Assist. Prof. Mehmet Karamanoğlu, Faculty Member of Tosya Vocational School of our University, was accepted and entitled to receive support within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1005 - National New Ideas and Products Research Support Program.
In the project led by Assist. Prof. Mehmet Karamanoğlu, Assoc Prof. Dr. Alperen Kaymakcı and Assist. Prof. Dr. Emre Birinci , faculty members of the Faculty of Forestry of our University, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Emrah Erdoğdu, a faculty member of the Faculty of Engineering of Karabük University, will take part as researchers.
With the project, which was prepared as a result of the "We Write Your Project Together" event and decided to be supported by TÜBİTAK, a production system will be developed for wood biscuits, which is a wood fastener, not produced in our country and wood fasteners that are widely used in the field of furniture and decoration, also the characteristics of the wooden biscuits to be produced with this system will be determined. At the same time, the project has a special importance as wooden biscuits will be produced from domestic wood species instead of imported wooden biscuit elements.
Within the context of mission undertaken by our University, which has the distinction of being the only university specializing in the field of "Forestry and Nature Tourism", wooden biscuits, to be produced from organic, environmentally friendly and sustainable wood materials, will be an alternative to plastic derivative fasteners and contribute to the sustainable environment, thus within the scope of the Green Reconciliation Action Plan expected to support many goals.
