In the Muaythai Ünilig Universities Turkey Championship held in Antalya from May 3-7, Kastamonu University achieved third place in the B Division category as a team, competing with six athletes.
The university's Muay Thai team, under the coaching of Research Assistant Ahmet Batuhan Akbulut, drew attention with both individual and team performances at the championship. The athletes successfully represented our University by achieving significant rankings in various weight categories.
Competing in the A Division 54 kg category at the championship, Hamza Eren Göksu won a gold medal and became the Turkish champion. In the B Division 51 kg category, Alakber Mammadli won the gold medal by finishing first. In the B Division 71 kg category, Sedat Altun won a silver medal, becoming the second in Turkey, while in the B Division 67 kg category, Yusuf Altun won a bronze medal, achieving third place in Turkey.
With this achievement, Kastamonu University has reached third place in Turkey in the B Division team classification, marking another significant sporting success. We congratulate all our athletes and our coach who successfully represented our University with their outstanding performance.
