The IV. Agriculture and Forestry Council, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, was held from April 28-30, 2025, with the participation of Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Mr. İbrahim Yumaklı, under the theme "Century of Turkey, Century of Abundance." Kastamonu University played an essential role in the council with its strong academic contribution.
Following the previous councils held in 1997, 2004, and 2019, this comprehensive organization featured working groups under 16 separate headings and workshops under five different headings. The commission reports prepared by the working groups were presented to the Presidential Board and submitted for the approval of the Council members. A total of 371 goals and 2,678 strategies were determined within the framework of the Council.
The working group titled "Integrated and Sustainable Forestry Management" was chaired by our University's Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük.Kastamonu University, as the only higher education institution specializing in forestry and nature tourism, received great appreciation for its contribution to the council.

Prof. Dr. Alperen Kaymakcı, Prof. Dr. Erol Akkuzu, Prof. Dr. Ferhat Kara, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anıl Soyumert Ertürk, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Birinci, from our university, also significantly contributed to the process by actively participating in different working groups.
The Council process will be completed with the "Final Declaration," which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will announce to the public on May 14, 2025.
