Kastamonu University achieved significant success at the Interuniversity Turkey Kickboxing Championship, hosted by Balıkesir University from April 9-11, 2025, organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation. Thanks to the individual successes of the athletes participating in the championship, our university became the third in Turkey as a team in the K1 category.
Competing in the 86-kilogram K1 category, Asrın Fırat Yaman became the champion and won the Turkish championship. Mesut Yıldırım, who competed in the 67-kilogram Full Contact category, and Hüseyin Eren Küçükoğlu, who fought in the 63.5-kilogram Full Contact category, both received third place. Third place on the podium was also achieved by Mehdi Salmanov in the 86-kilogram K1 category, Aydın Demir in the 63.5-kilogram K1 category, and Alakbar Mammadli in the 51-kilogram K1 category.
