The project titled "Analyzing, Mapping, and Visualizing the History and Philosophy of Science in the Republican Era Using Digital Humanities Methods," prepared under the supervision of Assist. Prof.Dr. Ömer Fatih Tekin, a faculty member in the Department of History of Science at Kastamonu University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, has been granted support under TÜBİTAK's 3005-Research Projects Support Program for Innovative Solutions in Social and Human Sciences.
The project aims to analyze, map, and visualize scientific and philosophical developments in the Republican era through digital humanities methods. The project will examine the period from 1923 to the present day under four main headings: scientific movements, conceptual transformations, and intellectual relations will be presented visually and interactively with the help of digital tools.
The digital archive and database to be created within the project's scope will make it possible to relate essential concepts, events, and actors in the field of history and philosophy of science with social network analysis methods. Thanks to the interactive maps and timelines to be prepared, the scientific and intellectual accumulation of the period will be made accessible to a broader audience.
In addition to Assist. Prof. Dr. Ömer Fatih Tekin, the project includes Assist. Prof.Dr. Çağlar Karaca, Assist. Prof. Dr. Tuba Uymaz, Prof. Dr. Yavuz Unat from our University; Assist. Prof. Dr. Elif Ela Erberk and Research Assistant Berkan Çelik from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University; Research Assistant Ezgi Hazal Turhan from Ankara Social Sciences University; and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Demir as an advisor. Additionally, as doctoral fellows, Sercan Palavan and Gülcan Karaca are involved in the project.
