In collaboration with the Department of Information Technologies and the Coordination Office for Artificial Intelligence Studies, Kastamonu University organized an AI training program for its administrative staff under "Efficiency Enhanced by Artificial Intelligence: Text and Visual Content Production and Effective Presentation Preparation."
The training sessions addressed the importance of artificial intelligence in today's world, its application areas, and how text-generation tools can be utilized in administrative processes.
Prof. Dr. S. Tunay Kamer, the Coordinator of Artificial Intelligence Studies, delivered the program's opening speech. Professor Kamer highlighted AI's role in the modern world and shared the University's goals in this field. He stated that the newly established coordination office will offer training sessions, academic projects, and programs to integrate AI technologies into administrative processes. Emphasizing that these efforts aim to enable educational and administrative staff to use AI effectively, he noted that such training programs are a significant step in the University's digital transformation journey.
After this, Murat Yayla from the Department of Information Technologies gave a detailed presentation on the historical development of computer technology and artificial intelligence. He outlined the evolution of AI from its early foundations to the present day, touching on key areas such as machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing. Yayla also introduced different types of AI to the participants and provided information on supervised and unsupervised learning models, artificial neural networks, and large language models.
Later in the training, Onur Altıntaş and Ufuk Acı, also from the Department of Information Technologies, introduced participants to AI-supported text and presentation creation tools. The trainers emphasized the role of AI in written and visual content production and shared examples of how these tools can be used more efficiently in administrative processes. Through hands-on demonstrations, they explained the convenience provided by AI-based tools—particularly in document preparation, reporting, and presentation development.
During the practical session of the training, participants had the opportunity to experience AI tools firsthand.
