Kastamonu University has implemented the Social Transcript Application in order to record students' academic achievements as well as their achievements in social, cultural and scientific activities. The system, which started to be implemented as of the 2024-2025 academic year, will contribute to the personal and professional development of our students by documenting their scientific, social, cultural and volunteering activities throughout their university life. This system, created within the scope of our university's Social Transcript Directive, aims to help students gain social sensitivity and develop skills such as communication, teamwork, analytical thinking and leadership. At the same time, the application, which aims to raise individuals with local and national value judgments and universal and humanitarian values, will systematically record students' social and cultural activities.
Within the scope of the Social Transcript, the activities that students participate in will be categorized and evaluated. These include social initiatives, scientific activities, cultural activities, volunteering, sports activities, projects and awards. Students will be able to be included in this system by documenting their achievements in the activities carried out within our University or in cooperation with public institutions.
Students will be able to upload the activities they have participated in through the University Information Management System (ÜBYS) and add them to their social transcripts. During the evaluation process of the applications, students will be required to upload documents such as certificates, certificates of participation, certificates of appreciation, and awards. The documents, which are reviewed and approved by academic advisors, will be recorded on the student's transcript and can be used as a reference in their CV after graduation.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal emphasized that not only the academic success of students, but also their social and cultural development is important.
Our Rector stated that the Social Transcript Application will make an important contribution to students' careers after graduation by documenting the social skills they have gained throughout their university life. Thus, students will be able to express themselves more strongly in job applications both at home and abroad.
