Cataract surgery, intraocular lens implantation, pterygium removal, and corneal transplantation were performed on the patient, who suffered severe vision loss in his left eye as a result of a work accident about 25 years ago, had a risk of perforation due to corneal infections and had advanced cataract. This operation was recorded as the first combined cataract and corneal transplant surgery performed in Kastamonu. It was reported that the patient started to see again after the surgery.
Cornea Transplantation Process Completed Successfully

First, cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation were performed, and then the cornea obtained through organ donation was successfully transplanted."
Dr. Kömür, who is in charge of the Cornea Transplant Center, stated that the cornea required for transplantation was obtained from the eye bank in Konya and that thanks to the Cornea Transplant Center opened in the hospital in recent months, the patient, who has been suffering from vision loss due to corneal discomfort and traumatic cataract for a long time, can be intervened. Dr. Kömür stated that the surgery was completed after the necessary preparations were completed.
