Department of Graphic Design, was opened to art lovers on 20 December 2024.
By bringing together 350 works from 19 countries, the exhibition aims to raise awareness about global warming and climate crisis and to take action by creating a collective consciousness. The works in the exhibition reflect the pessimistic picture of the future and offer hope and solutions to overcome these challenges.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, theDean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Prof. Dr. Erol Yıldır, emphasized the importance of art in creating social change and awareness, thanked those who contributed to the organization of the exhibition, and stated that the exhibition is an essential step towards finding solutions to the everyday problems of humanity.
Research Assistant from the Department of Graphic Design, who curated the exhibition. Assist. Prof. Dr. Sofya Cihan Canbolat from the Department of Graphic Design, who curated the exhibition, stated that art is a powerful tool to create a universal consciousness against environmental and social threats. Canbolat noted that the exhibition aims to remind people of the social responsibility against the climate crisis, which has a profound impact on humanity's social, economic, and cultural structures.
The works in the exhibition contribute to the struggle of humanity united around a global problem and emphasize the importance of acting together to overcome the climate crisis. The exhibition calls on viewers to be a part of challenges and solutions.
The 5th International Postal Art Exhibition can be visited between 20-27 December 2024 at our University's Art Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. In addition, all the exhibition works can be accessed online at www.artanddesignplatform.com.
