A conference on 'Current Developments in the World Economy' was held at Kastamonu University with the participation of Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar, Member of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.
The event, which was held on 2 December 2024 at the Central Library Sezai Karakoç Hall with the organization of the Economics Student Community and Yeniler Student Community, attracted the attention of our academic staff and students. Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Orhan Kandemir, Head of the Department of Economics Prof. Dr. Serkan Dilek, representatives of public institutions, academicians, and students attended the conference.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Serkan Dilek emphasized that conferences are essential for students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge of current economic developments. He stated that such events strengthen their analytical skills and broaden the participants' perspectives on the global economy.
Prof. Dr. Orhan Kandemir, on the other hand, pointed out that the dynamics of the world economy are changing rapidly and that these conferences offer students the opportunity to understand the global economy better.
At the conference, Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar provided comprehensive information on global economic trends, Economic situation, and future projections. Prof. Dr. Kar focused on the causes and effects of worldwide economic fluctuations and discussed Turkey's role in this process in detail.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Kar gave important advice to students about the economy of the future and stated that it is essential for young people to gain economic awareness and follow global developments—the confeTurkey'sded with the presentation of a plaque and certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar.
Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar, a Member of the Council of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, who attended the conference on ‘Current Developments in the World Economy’ as a speaker, visited our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, after the event. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar and Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal exchanged views on current issues and global developments. They evaluated the academic affairs and projects of our university.
Our Rector expressed his satisfaction with the visit and thanked Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar for his valuable sharing and contributions. Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar also expressed gratitude for the interest and hospitality.
The visit ended with the presentation of gifts and a photo shoot.
