Within the bilateral cooperation protocol signed between Kastamonu University and Algeria Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla (KMU), a comprehensive four-day in-service training program was held for ten administrative staff from KMU.
The program, which took place between 19 and 22 November 2024, discussed topics such as digitalizing education systems in higher education, laboratory management, quality assurance systems, and goal-based management. The general coordinators of external relations at our University hosted the program.
On the first day of the program, Murat Yayla from the Department of Information Technologies and Dr. Lecturer Ahmed Nureddin Kattan from the Faculty of Theology. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Nureddin Kattan from the Faculty of Theology started with a presentation titled 'Digitalisation of Education Systems.' The presentation introduced the historical development of digitalization, the rise of digital education platforms, and the digital systems used at our University. In particular, our University'sUniversity's distance education system, student information management system, and other digital applications were explained in detail. After the presentation, KMU staff asked curious questions and received in-depth information about digitalization processes.
On the second day, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Funda Terzi and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ihab Said Ibrahim from our University's Central Research Laboratory presented on 'Laboratory Management, Maintenance, and Scientific Activities.' Prof. Dr. Ihab Said İbrahim İbrahim presented on 'Laboratory Management, Maintenance, and Scientific Activities.' The presentation presented detailed information about laboratory management processes, maintenance, and device usage. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gamze Savacı gave detailed information about soil analyses and the methods followed in these analyses. After the presentation, KMU staff visited the Central Research Laboratory and had the opportunity to examine the laboratory devices on site.
On the third day, Lecturer from the Quality Coordination Unit of our University. Assist. Ayça Nur Aydoğan and Dr. Lecturer Prof. Dr. Ahmed Nureddin Kattan presented on 'Quality Processes at our University.' In the presentation, the quality assurance policies of our University, accreditation processes, and quality management systems' functioning were explained in detail. The participants expressed their willingness to cooperate with our University to improve the quality processes at their universities.
On the last day of the program, Dr. Lecturer Mustafa Yücel from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Dr. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yücel and Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Ihab Said İbrahim İbrahim made a presentation titled 'Goal-Based Management.' The presentation covered the importance of goal setting, how organizations should be guided in line with the goals, and how to integrate activities into the goals. KMU staff expressed satisfaction with the presentation and emphasized that similar training programs at our University should be continued.
The program ended with the Assoc presentation of certificates to the participants. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Öztürk Akcaoğlu, General Coordinator of Foreign Relations. Speaking at the certificate ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akcaoğlu stated that the cooperation between the two universities will continue to strengthen. KMU staff thanked our University and said such activities contribute to academic and administrative staff development.
The program ended after the collective photo shoot.
