Under the leadership of Hikmet Haberal, a lecturer at Kastamonu University Faculty of Tourism, students organized a traditional trek to the Small Hacet Peak of Ilgaz Mountain on 29 October to emphasize the meaning and importance of Republic Day.
One hundred students participated in the event and climbed the 2547-meter-high Hacet Peak of Ilgaz Mountain. During the climb, the students were given scientific information about the Ilgaz Mountains' geological structure, the region's natural beauties, and the ecosystem. The participants also had the opportunity to get to know the region's rich biodiversity.
Upon reaching the summit, the students stood in silence and recited the National Anthem in honor of the 101st anniversary of the Republic. The love for the homeland and devotion to the Republic were expressed in the ceremony.
Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Hikmet Haberal, in his speech at the summit, stated that they commemorate the founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and his comrades-in-arms with gratitude.
'We are at Ilgaz Hacet Summit on the 101st anniversary of our Republic,' said Haberal,' Here we commemorate Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms and all our martyrs who fell to the ground for the homeland with mercy and gratitude. They founded the Republic, we will keep it alive.' He used the expressions.
