Kastamonu University achieved significant success at the 9th International Invention Fair ISIF'24, organized within the scope of Teknofest 2024.
Our university won two gold and three bronze medals at the fair and received five awards in total. The awards were presented by Muhammet Kasım Gönüllü, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, and M. Zeki Durak, President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
The first of the gold medal-winning projects was ‘Wound Healing Mat from Fruit and Vegetable Peel Wastes with Anti-Scar Properties and Vitamin C and E Source’ developed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akkaş and Gülseren Sakarya. This project attracted attention by developing a mat that contributes to the wound healing process using natural components. The other gold medalist project was the invention of Buğra Çelebi and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erol Tekin titled ‘Mechanical Hysteria Generation, Robotic Damage Detection and Categorisation System’. This system offers innovative solutions for damage detection and categorization with the help of robotic technologies.
Among the bronze medal-winning projects, Dr. Prof. Dr. Erman Zurnacı's invention titled ‘Circular Socket Cover Mechanism’. This invention attracted attention with a safe and practical socket cover design. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemal Akyol, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir Karacı and Muhammed Emin Çiftikçi's joint project ‘Embedded System Design to Recognise Hearing Impaired People in Traffic’ was also awarded the bronze medal. This project developed a system that aims to increase the safety of hearing-impaired individuals in traffic. Finally, Buğra Çelebi's invention titled ‘Direction of Attack Signalling System’ also won a bronze medal.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal congratulated our academicians and students who received awards and thanked the Patent Support Office within the Technology Transfer Office and all our staff who contributed to this success. He also expressed his gratitude to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and the Ministry of Industry and Technology for their support.
