Kastamonu University Faculty of Education is hosting the 17th International Computer and Instructional Technology Symposium with the theme ‘Meta-Education: Rethinking the Education of the Future’ between 3-5 October 2024.
The 17th International Computer and Instructional Technologies Symposium was held on 3 October 2024 at Ahmed Yesevi Conference Hall. Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük and our academicians, academicians from various universities, representatives from public institutions, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector took part in the opening of the symposium.
The symposium aims to develop new perspectives to shape the education of the future by addressing the effects of rapid technological changes, digital transformation, and globalization in the field of education.
In the opening session, the Chairman of the Organising Committee Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Akyüz addressed the participants and stated that the symposium provides an important opportunity to discuss innovations in the field of education and to shape future education methods. Akyüz emphasized that such events will shed light on the changes in the world of education and that the participants will be able to develop new ideas by exchanging information.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kaçar, Dean of the Faculty of Education, stated in his speech that the role of technology in education is becoming more and more important. Prof. Dr. Kaçar stated that in the process of transformation in education, the effective use of technological tools offers a great opportunity to enrich student experiences, which can make positive contributions to both the teaching process and students' learning motivation. He also emphasized that future education systems should be supported by such technological innovations.
Participants will share their experiences with panels, workshops, and interviews on innovations in educational technologies, teaching methods, and ways to increase student interaction for 3 days.
In the panels where international participants will also take part, educational practices and technology integration in different countries will be discussed. The symposium aims to strengthen cooperation in the field of education and develop more effective educational methods by utilizing different perspectives.
