Kastamonu University was awarded the ‘Certificate of Achievement for Energy Efficiency in Buildings as a result of its successful efforts within the scope of energy efficiency. The Presidential Circular dated 15 August 2019 and numbered 2019/18, aimed to use public resources effectively and reduce energy costs, while a 15% energy saving target was set in public buildings according to the Energy Efficiency Law No. 5627.
As a result of the energy efficiency studies carried out in the Central Campus of our university between 2019-2023, energy savings between 14% and 16% were achieved. Based on this success, Kastamonu University was awarded the ‘Certificate of Achievement for Energy Efficiency in Buildings’ with the signature of Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.
In addition, with Presidential Circular No. 2023/15, a 30% energy-saving target has been set by the end of 2030, and our university continues its efforts in line with this target without slowing down.
