Kastamonu University signed a significant success in the Erasmus+ 2024 call for proposals for Mobility Projects in Higher Education (KA171). Our university was ranked 14th among 115 applicants.

Erasmus+ Main Action 1 Under the Learning Mobility of Individuals Calls for Proposals, applications for partnership projects with higher education institutions in non-programmed third countries have been finalized. The 2024 Erasmus+ KA171 project, prepared by the Erasmus Coordinator of our university and approved by 16 different countries, was eligible for a grant of 154,397 euros from the National Agency of Turkey.

Students and staff mobility will be carried out with universities in 16 countries, including Nepal, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Palestine, Egypt, Jamaica, Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria.

Student and staff announcements for the Erasmus+ KA171 project will be announced on the website of the Erasmus Coordinator of our University in the academic year 2024-2025.


The Erasmus Coordinator of our university said that the approved projects would strengthen our cooperation with various countries and significantly contribute to our student's and academic staff's acquisition of international experience.

Our university received one partner and 16,240 Euro in the project presented to the National Agency of Turkey for the 2020 call under the Erasmus+ KA171 project, eight partners and 50,840 euros in 2022, and 146,765 euros with 21 different partners from 16 countries in 2023.


Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, underlined the importance of international student and staff activities in achieving the quality standards set by our university and said that they aim to maximize cooperation with our partners abroad. He also stressed the importance of enabling more of our students and staff to benefit from international experiences through the Erasmus programme, increasing the institutional recognition of our university and creating potential partnerships.

Our rector expressed his thanks to the staff of the Erasmus Coordinator and everyone involved in the process. He also thanked the President of the National Agency of Turkey, Ilker Astarcı, the Chairman of the Board of Higher Education, Prof. Dr Erol Özvar, and the members of the YEK for their contributions and dedication to the process of internationalization of higher education institutions.
