A delegation led by Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, Qudratov Obidjon Nematocich, visited Kastamonu University. Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, and Prof. Dr. Kasım Yenigün welcomed the delegation.

Abdulvokhid Zakhadulayev, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Forestry Agency of Uzbekistan; Rikhsiev Nodir, Head of the Department of Investments in Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of Uzbekistan; Mehmet Koç, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations, Training, and Research of the General Directorate of Forestry (OGM); Meryem Burçin Irmak, Deputy Director of Kastamonu Forestry Region; and Nihat Karakaya, Forest Engineer of the Department of Foreign Relations, Training, and Research of OGM.

Dean of the Faculty of Forestry Prof. Dr. Erol Akkuzu, General Coordinator of the Foreign Relations Office Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Öztürk Akcaoğlu, and Coordinator of Bilateral Agreements and Protocols Institution Assoc. Dr. Osman Sabri Kesbiç also attended the meeting held at the Rectorate Meeting Hall.

During the meeting, which was described as a step aimed at strengthening cooperation between Turkey and Uzbekistan in environmental protection, climate change, and forestry, issues of developing joint research projects on forestry and climate change and increasing cooperation opportunities were discussed.

The delegation of Uzbekistan stated that they aim to create a framework to evaluate our university's expertise and experience in forestry and nature tourism, which is our specialization, in future cooperation projects.

At the end of the meeting, a letter of intent was signed to formalise the cooperation between the two institutions.
