In the event organized by the Social Sciences Community of our University (SOBIT) and with the support of the Career Development Application and Research Center on April 25, 2024, Emre Özel, who was selected as the Beyond the Line Teacher in 2018 by the General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Technologies of the Ministry of National Education, met with students at the Central Library Sezai Karakoç Hall.
Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir Tuna, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kepceoğlu and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emine Karasu Avcı, academic and administrative staff, and many students attended the seminar held by SOBIT and with the support of the Career Development Application and Research Center at the Central Library Sezai Karakoç Hall.
Emre Özel, who works as a science teacher at Beşpınar Village Şehit Gürcan Yavuz Secondary School in Demirözü district of Bayburt province, took the floor after the silence of respect and the reading of the National Anthem.
Sharing his experiences in his profession since he started working as a village teacher, Özel said he did not give up his profession even under challenging conditions.
Özel also stated that it is a priority to do the teaching profession properly under limited conditions and that for a teacher, the expression of happiness in the eyes and faces of his students is above everything else. Continuing his speech, Özel stated that it is a priority to love the profession first and that it is essential to touch human life and make money. He shared the formula for being successful in professional life with the students.
After the speech, Emre Özel, the subject of the 2018 documentary “Our Teachers Beyond the Line," prepared by the Ministry of National Education, continued with a Cinevision show.
The program ended with presenting a gift to Emre Özel by the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences Community Advisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emine Karasu Avcı, and a photo shoot in memory of the day.
