100th Year Republic Sports Games volleyball final competitions were held on April 4, 2024, at Ay Yıldız Sports and Life Center.
Our Rector, Prof.Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Vice Rectors Prof.Dr.Mehmet Atalan, Prof.Dr.Ömer Küçük,Prof.Dr. Kasım Yenigün, many academic and administrative staff, as well as our students, shared the excitement of the tournament.
A total of 27 teams—13 women and 14 men participated in the volleyball tournament competitions of the 100th Anniversary Republican Sports Games, which started on February 24, 2024.
The Faculty of Education became the champion after defeating the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences 3-1 in the women's volleyball final match. At the same time, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences came in second.
The Faculty of Health Sciences came in third in the tournament. In the men's volleyball category, Kastamonu Vocational School, which defeated the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture 3-0 in the final, became the champion. At the same time, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences came in third.
Stating that the final competitions of the volleyball branch in the 100th Anniversary Republican Sports Games were completed with great enthusiasm, our Rector thanked everyone who contributed to this exciting event held at the Ay Yıldız Sports and Life Center. Stating that the performance of our teams competing in the volleyball branch was highly effective, our Rector congratulated the Faculty of Education, which won the championship in the women's category, and Kastamonu Vocational School, which came first in the men's category. He also congratulated the second- and third-place teams.
Emphasizing that such organisations held at our university reinforce the spirit of unity and solidarity and the importance of sports, our Rector thanked our athletes, academic and administrative staff, and students who took part in the tournament and wished them continued success.
