Our university's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences continues its development with successful steps by increasing its quality standards with its accredited undergraduate program.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences History undergraduate program was accredited for five years by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Curricula of Faculties of Science, Literature, Science-Literature, Language, and History-Geography (FEDEK), authorised by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK). The History Department of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences became the first accredited department with these accreditations. Within the scope of quality studies in the faculty, other departments continue their preparations to apply to FEDEK.
The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Serhat Yılmaz, stated they are proud of this accreditation certificate and thanked everyone who contributed to this success, as it is joint teamwork. He also thanked our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, for his help and support during this process.
Prof.Dr. Mehmet Serhat Yılmaz emphasized that the Department of History accreditation certificate supports its students' career paths and expands their job opportunities in Turkey and abroad. At the same time, he stated that with this accreditation, the faculty will increase the quality of education offered to students. He also emphasised that the continuity of quality will be ensured by strictly following the process.
Emphasizing the importance of the department to maintain this certificate, obtain it, and raise its quality even higher, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz said that the world is changing rapidly. As educational institutions, they have to follow this change.
Prof. Dr.Ahmet Hamdi Topal expressed his satisfaction with the success of the accreditation of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.Stating that great importance is given to the dissemination of quality-oriented studies at our university, our Rector stated that intensive efforts will be made to continuously improve quality and raise academic standards in the coming periods and thanked Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education, and members of the Council of Higher Education for their support in this process. Our Rector also thanked Prof. Dr.Ümit Kocabıçak, the Higher Education Quality Board President, and the board members for their outstanding efforts to spread the quality culture in higher education institutions.
