The Globe-LFMC 2.0 research, which was carried out with the contributions of a team consisting of many international participants, including Kastamonu University Faculty of Science and Department of Biology faculty member Nursema Aktepe, was published in Nature (Scientific Data), the world's highest impact factor.
The dataset utilised in the research, which was carried out by a team of 25 individuals that included Cihan Ünal Değirmenci from Hacettepe University and Assistant. Prof.Dr. Nursema Aktepe from Turkey, comprises approximately 280,000 Live Fuel Moisture Content (LFMC) measurements that were gathered in field experiments that span 15 countries. The research supports studies on land surface modelling, physiological traits, ecological dynamics, and fire behaviour.
