Kastamonu University has made a name for itself in the national and international fields with its gradual rise. With the qualified publications made by our academicians, our university reached an acceptance rate of 72.9% in Q1 and Q2 journals in 2023.
The Q values of scientific journals, an essential element for the exhibition of academic studies, are considered an analytical tool that determines the ranking of journals in their group depending on the impact factor. Q values also guide academics in selecting journals and determining a study's quality.
The rate of Kastamonu University, which increases the quality of its scientific studies every year, has increased year by year in journals ranked Q1 and Q2. According to SCOPUS data, the acceptance rate of our university to Q1 + Q2 journals was 58.2% in 2019, while this rate increased to 62.0% in 2020.In 2021, our university increased its success graph and acceptance rate to 70.2%; in 2022, this rate was 69.7%. According to 2023 data, our university reached the top of the success graph at the end of 4 years and increased its acceptance rate to Q1 + Q2 journals to 72.9%.
Our university, which has succeeded in being among the elite universities with its achievements, is among the young universities established after 2000 and making a name for itself in the national and international arenas.
While our university's Q1 publication count was 63 in 2019, it grew to 80 in 2020, making substantial contributions to both regional and national development through unique research.
While the number and content of academic studies changed in the world due to the pandemic, our university published 117 Q1 publications in 2021, and this number increased to 140 in 2022 at the end of the pandemic. In 2023, 201 studies by our academicians managed to be included in Q1 journals.
The publications of academics in Q2 journals in the last four years also attract attention. While 76 articles from our university were published in Q2 journals in 2019, this number increased to 101 in 2020. In 2021, 83 studies by our academicians were published in Q2 journals, while this number increased to 145 in 2022. In 2023, 169 articles from our university were published in Q2 journals.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that they are proud and happy to increase the number of qualified publications, such as Q1 and Q2, and stated that Kastamonu University continues to add new achievements to its achievements in the academic community.
Our rector stated that they have maximized their achievements on national and worldwide platforms by increasing the number and quality of scientific papers and that they will continue to work tirelessly to set the bar even higher.Our Rector thanked the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the members of the Council of Higher Education, who provided all kinds of support in achieving both national and international successes, and underlined that this support contributed significantly to the recognition of our university in the national and international arena.
