Buğra Çelebi, a student of the Department of International Trade and Logistics, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of our University, and his team were awarded the first prize in the Smart Agriculture Category of the "Agriculture Rising with Young People" idea competition organized annually by the Izmir Commodity Exchange (ITB) with the project idea "Modular Piezoelectric Nerve System Kit for Agricultural Vehicles".
Within the scope of the competition, which aims to transform the fortunes of agriculture together with young people in the 100th anniversary of the Republic, awards were presented under five categories: "Smart Agriculture", "Environmentally Friendly Agriculture", "Agricultural Marketing, Branding and Communication", "Rural Development" and "Crop and Animal Production". With the competition, it was aimed to develop modern agricultural practices in order to increase sustainability and competitiveness in agriculture, to strengthen the relations of young people with the agricultural sector and to encourage them to produce ideas that will offer innovation in the agricultural field and ensure the integration of agriculture with different fields of study. The "Blue Inventor Team" team, which was led by Buğra Çelebi, representing the Department of International Trade and Logistics of our University, and consisting of Beyzanur Tekahlat, Şükrannaz Pekşen and Halil İbrahim Şanal, students of the Department of Aviation Management, won the first prize in the Smart Agriculture category with their project titled "Modular Piezoelectric Nerve System Kit for Agricultural Vehicles".
The award ceremony was held at the 19th AGROEXPO International Agriculture, Livestock and Poultry Fair in Fair Izmir. Team leader Buğra Çelebi stated that the aim of the project is to identify possible problems that may occur in agricultural vehicles in advance and to prevent the damage and dangers that these problems may cause. In this way, he pointed out that the service life of agricultural vehicles will increase and agricultural productivity will improve significantly by optimizing maintenance times. Çelebi thanked Kastamonu University, in particular the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Kastamonu Teknokent Inc. for their support.
In addition, Çelebi said that he participated in the trainings within the scope of the "Specialized Entrepreneurship Program" organized within Kastamonu Teknokent A.Ş. last year, and that he applied for 3 national patents and that they are in the early publication stage. Expressing the contribution of the trainings he received to his development, Çelebi added that he continues to work on incorporation within Kastamonu Teknokent Inc.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal congratulated our students, stating that the first prize obtained by our students Buğra Çelebi and his team in the "Agriculture Rises with Young People" idea competition organized by the Izmir Commodity Exchange added a new one to the achievements of our University.
Our Rector emphasized the high standards of Kastamonu University in academic and research fields with the success of young people in the agricultural sector and winning awards with innovative projects, and stated that our students carry the name of our University even further with such achievements.
