The project titled "Nanocellulose Types Obtained from Different Waste Papers and the Effect of Coating Process with Lignin Reinforcement on the Properties of Packaging Papers", carried out by Assistant Professor Ekrem Durmaz, one of the faculty members of the Forest Industrial Engineering Faculty of our University, was entitled to receive TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Module grant.
The project, which is carried out by Assistant Professor Ekrem Durmaz, one of the faculty members of the Faculty of Forestry, Forest Industrial Engineering, and Prof. Dr.Saim Ateş, a researcher, aims to create a new alternative in terms of the evaluation of waste paper produced in large quantities, and to meet the need for bleached paper pulp, wood-based raw material, which is required for the production of nanocellulose. It is aimed to reach products at a more affordable cost without
Speaking about the project, which is planned to last 12 months, Durmaz said: “We aim to produce nanocellulose suspensions, which are completely natural biodegradable liquid barrier materials obtained from waste papers, instead of synthetic polymers that currently provide liquid barrier properties in industrial packaging papers. "In addition, within the scope of this project, completely environmentally friendly methods will be followed in the production of Nanocellulose suspensions and the coating processes with these suspensions, and the final products to be produced will be environmentally friendly and sustainable."
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal congratulated our academicians for their project work and expressed his gratitude to the President of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and the members of the Council of Higher Education for their support for environmentally sensitive and sustainable projects. In addition, our Rector thanked Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK, for his encouraging approach to our institution in project studies.
We congratulate Ekrem Durmaz and Saim Ateş, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Forest Industry Engineering, who took part in the project as researchers/experts, and wish them ease of work and continued success.
