"Palestine" International Poster and Print Exhibition organized by Kastamonu University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design met with art lovers on December 27, 2023. The exhibition draws attention with its works that aim to take a stance against the persecution in Palestine.

The opening of the exhibition, which took place at the Fine Arts Gallery of our university, was accompanied by the recitation of the Quran. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, Deputy Provincial Mufti Selim Demir, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Prof. Erol Yıldır, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Alptekin Sökmen, academic and administrative staff and students attended the event, which was organized in cooperation with Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts.

The exhibition stands out as a platform where 50 works by 48 artists and designers from 11 countries are exhibited with the theme of Palestinian Resistance. The works, which were previously exhibited at Selçuk University Fine Arts Gallery, met with art lovers in Kastamonu.

In his speech at the exhibition, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Prof. Erol Yıldır emphasized the importance of art in reacting to painful events and social injustices.

Yıldır emphasized the responsibility of art to express pain and oppression as well as exhibiting beauty. Drawing attention to the human tragedy in Palestine, he expressed his pleasure to host the event, which aims to create sensitivity against the massacre that caused the deaths of thousands of people. He expressed his desire to organize an exhibition dedicated to peace for a free Palestine in the future.

The exhibition will continue to host art lovers at Kastamonu University Fine Arts Gallery until January 12, 2024.
