The final competitions and award ceremony of the basketball branch of the 100th Anniversary Republican Sports Games organized by our university were held on January 4, 2023 at the Ay Yıldız Sports and Life Center. A total of 13 teams and 160 student athletes participated in the competitions that lasted for 5 weeks.
Victory in Men's Basketball Vocational School of Kastamonu
In the tournament, which witnessed breathtaking competitions in the men's basketball category, Kastamonu Vocational School defeated the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences 75-61 and became the champion. While the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences took the second place, the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture took the third place. Faculty of Engineering and Architecture defeated İhsangazi Vocational School 71-31 and won the bronze medal.
Faculty of Health Sciences at the Top in Women's Basketball
In the women's basketball category, the Faculty of Health Sciences won both of its matches and became the champion. The second runner-up was the Faculty of Education, which drew attention with its successful performance.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Prof. Dr. İzzet Şenel, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Baydil and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir Tuna presented the awards to the winning teams at the award ceremony held after the competitions.
