Kastamonu University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Landscape Architecture faculty member Assist. Prof. Merve Kalaycı Kadak's "Application of the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform and the Local Climate Zone (LCZ) classification to determine the implications of land-based policies on climate impacted landscapes: A comparative approach to understanding future trends in urban to rural changes in Turkey and the United States" was awarded a grant by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).
Assist. Prof. Kalaycı Kadak will carry out her project for 12 months at the University of Connecticut (Connecticut, USA) Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture (PSLA), which is in the 351-400 category in the current ranking of Time Higher Education (THE), the world university rating agency. Assist. Prof. Merve Kalaycı Kadak's research project, which is entitled to be supported by TÜBİTAK, aims to put forward an innovative approach to determining land-based landscape policies in order to predict the future effects of climate change factor on urban and rural landscapes.
