Within the scope of the "Art Meetings-1" event organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of our university, Prof. Dr. Doğan Arslan, Head of Visual Communication Design Department of Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, met with students and art lovers.
Within the framework of the art meetings event, Prof. Dr. Doğan Arslan answered the questions of the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design in the interview held on November 15, 2023 at the Central Library Cemil Meriç Hall.
In the conversation titled "Criticism in Protest Design", Prof. Dr. Arslan informed the participants about the subject and stated that criticism is at the core of art and underlined that artists should express their thoughts without fear. Stating that it is a privilege for artists to express criticism in an original way, Prof. Arslan stated that it is important to make the artist think while criticizing.
After the interview, the opening of the exhibition consisting of 55 poster works of Prof. Dr. Doğan Arslan, which took place in domestic and international events, was held at Kastamonu University Fine Arts Gallery. The exhibition, which attracted great interest from academic staff and students, is waiting for art lovers until November 24, 2023.
Speaking about the event, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Prof. Erol Yıldır expressed his pleasure to bring together valuable artists and students and stated that the Art Meetings events will continue. Prof. Yıldır also concluded his speech by saying, "We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Doğan Arslan for sharing his knowledge and experience with our students within the scope of Art Meetings-1."
