Kastamonu University came together with students from different countries at the International Student Meeting Day, which was held for the second time this year. On October 19, 2023, many students attended the event held in Sezai Karakoç Hall of the Central Library of our University.
Our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, General Coordinator of Foreign Relations Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Öztürk Akcaoğlu, International Student Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Ahmet Rıfat Kayiş, Mevlana Institution Coordinator and International Student Community Advisor Dr. Senem Yetgin, unit coordinators and students attended the meeting.
Taking the first floor in the opening speech, General Coordinator of Foreign Relations Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Öztürk Akcaoğlu wished the new students to have a healthy, peaceful and successful education period.

General Coordinator of Foreign Relations Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Öztürk Akcaoğlu told the students that they will feel the warmth of Turkish hospitality as long as they study at Kastamonu University and expressed his hope that they will enjoy their education life. Akcaoğlu also touched upon the issue of Palestine in his speech and underlined that Palestine carries a deep sadness and concern in the hearts of all of us due to the difficulties and suffering faced by the Palestinian people. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akcaoğlu said, "This is a source of deep sorrow for humanity. We understand these pains and difficulties and we clearly express that we stand by the Palestinian people. Today, I would like to emphasize that we stand with them, share their pain and emphasize the importance of peace." General Coordinator of Foreign Relations Akçaoğlu emphasized that students from different countries are very happy to be together as a part of Kastamonu University family.
After Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akçaoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Rıfat Kayiş and Assoc. Assist. Yunus Sürücü gave information about Kastamonu and Kastamonu University.
After the presentations, Shofiyyah Aini Jannah, the president of the International Student Community, which works to contribute to the internationalization activities of our university, raise awareness about exchange programs and organize cultural activities, informed the students about the activities of the community.
Within the framework of the acquaintance day, Kastamonu City Trip will be held on October 21, 2023 and the necessary information will be given to the foreign students coming to the city to adapt to the city.
