A total of 69 patent, utility model and design applications were made in the 2019-2023 period under the ownership of our University, which raises the bar of success in scientific research and development activities day by day and is taking firm steps towards its goals at this point. While 53 of these applications were patents and utility models, 16 were made as design applications.
By years; In 2020, 6 patents and 1 utility model were applied for, in 2021, 9 patents, 2 utility models and 5 PCT applications were made. In 2022, 14 patents, 6 utility models and 2 PCT applications were made. As of the second quarter of 2023, 7 patent and 1 utility model applications were made under the ownership of our University.
Three of the applied patents and utility models were registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in 2022. In 2023, the registration process for 2 patents and 1 utility model was completed.
In addition to patent and utility model studies, our university has given significant emphasis to industrial design studies in recent years. 3 industrial design applications were made in 2021, 8 in 2022 and 5 in 2023. A total of 10 of the applied designs were registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, 3 in 2022 and 7 in 2023. While 3 design applications are included in the publication, the registration process for 3 designs continues.

In the continuation of the statement, our Rector thanked the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office for increasing patent awareness in universities and constantly encouraging invention activities, which have an essential place in Turkey's technological development, and for the support they provide to universities for the development of intellectual and industrial property rights in our country.
