At Kastamonu University Faculty of Forestry, wall panels and coatings prepared by the 2nd year Department of Forest Industry Engineering students within the scope of the Timber Industry course were exhibited. The exhibition attracted great interest with the products that students transformed their theoretical knowledge into practice.
At the exhibition's opening, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Erol Akkuzu, and the Head of the Department of Forest Industry Engineering, Prof. Dr. Saim Ateş, made speeches. At the opening, it was emphasized that the students' designs reflected the importance of using wood in terms of sustainability, environmentally friendly designs, and aesthetic values.
In the studies carried out under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Önder Tor, students had the opportunity to experience the design and production processes with solid wood and wood-based composite materials. The exhibited products revealed both the theoretical and practical knowledge of the students.
The staff of the Wood Culture Research and Application Centre, KASWOOD Industrial Forestry Products, Derya Pen Plastik Alüminyum Doğrama San. Ve Tic. LTD. ŞTİ. and SERDEKOR were thanked. While the supporting institutions and organizations enabled the students to carry out comprehensive studies in the design and production processes, they also contributed significantly to the successful realization of the exhibition.
It was stated that such activities contribute significantly to the development of professional knowledge and skills of young engineer candidates, as well as the widespread use of wood and the strengthening of cooperation with the sector.
