Kastamonu University Faculty of Health Sciences (SBF) organised an event on ‘Mental Health Services’ on 20 December 2024. The event, held in the SBF Seminar Hall, was organized by the Guidance, Counselling, and Psychosocial Counselling Commission of the Nursing Department.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir Tuna, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesrin İçli and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nihal Aydın, lecturers, and nursing department students participated in the event.
In the event moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Havva Kaçan gave two different speeches.
Fatma Mum, Responsible Nurse of Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital Psychiatry Service, explained the effects of mental illnesses on the individual and society in her presentation titled ‘Mental Diseases in Psychiatry, Mental Health Protection, and Nursing Approaches.’
Gülden Sertkaya, Social Worker at Kastamonu Community Mental Health Centre, discussed the importance of community-based mental health services and the role of these services in improving the quality of life of individuals in her speech titled ‘Community Mental Health Services in Strengthening Mental Health.’
At the end of the event, students asked the speakers about the issues they were curious about in mental health.
