Within the scope of the ‘Educational Wooden Toys’ course, which is one of the standard elective courses of our university, students from different faculties and departments visited the Wood Culture Research and Application Centre on 4 December 2024 under the guidance of course supervisor Dr. Lecturer Aysun Ata Aktürk. Prof. Aysun Ata Aktürk visited the Wood Culture Research and Application Centre on 4 December 2024.
During the visit, the center staff gave information about the usage areas of the tools and the products produced by the center. Then, under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Önder Tor, a faculty member of the Department of Wood Mechanics and Technology of the Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Industry Engineering, and the Director of the Centre, the students worked in small groups to design bird nests.
In this study, which lasted about three hours, students transformed their ideas into concrete designs in a creative and instructive environment.
The designed bird nests were placed on the trees in the Garden of the Faculty of Education on 18 December 2024, both contributing to nature, and the works produced by the students gained a concrete meaning.
