In cooperation with the Kastamonu University Faculty of Education and the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate of Commerce, a training program was organized to improve prospective teachers' consumer awareness and rights-seeking skills.
The program, which was held at the Faculty of Education between 2-6 December 2024, was attended by the final year students of the faculty's Preschool Teaching, Classroom Teaching, Primary Mathematics Teaching, Science Teaching, Social Sciences Teaching, Turkish Language Teaching, Music Teaching, Painting and Drawing Teaching and Psychological Counselling and Guidance departments.
Within the scope of the training program, approximately 90 minutes of informative lectures were given to each teaching program. In the lectures given by Kübra Yumrudaş, Deputy Director of the Provincial Directorate of Trade, and Gürol Kayıkcıoğlu, VHKİ, the themes of 'Conscious Consumer' and 'Budget Management' were discussed.
In the training, topics such as defective goods and services, distance contracts regulation, warranty certificate regulation, service information system, price tag regulation, sale of refurbished products, and after-sales services were covered in detail.
At the end of the program, Acting Provincial Director Kübra Yumrudaş emphasized that students are not only consumers, but they should also be conscious enough to take on the role of honorary inspectors.In the statement made by the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Education, it thanked the instructors who supported the program and the faculty members who provided guidance, and it was stated that efforts would be continued to organize such awareness-raising training for different grade levels periodically.
