In cooperation with the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate of National Education and our University Faculty of Education, 'Seminar on the Development and Evaluation of Higher Level Thinking Skills in Mathematics' was held on 18-19 November 2024.
The seminar, which the Provincial Directorate of National Education requested from the Faculty of Education, Department of Mathematics and Science Education, and Department of Mathematics Education, was held with the participation of 50 secondary school mathematics teachers in Kastamonu.
In the seminar given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kepceoğlu, one of the faculty members of the Faculty of Education and Vice Dean of the Faculty, gave comprehensive information on how to develop higher-order thinking skills in mathematics teaching and evaluate these skills.
In the seminar, digital approaches in mathematics teaching were also discussed within Turkey's Century of Education Model framework, which entered into practice in 2024. Participants gained practical knowledge on effectively using digital tools in line with the new curriculum.
