Kastamonu University played an important role in the goal of bringing science and education to society by participating in the ‘Kastamonu Science Festival’ project supported by TÜBİTAK 4007 Programme. The event, held on 17-18-19 October 2024 at Kastamonu Cumhuriyet Square, attracted interest with approximately 20,000 participants.
This year, 50 different workshops took place in the festival, and 150 workshop leaders and guides participated, presenting rich content. Kastamonu University contributed to society by organising various workshop activities through its faculty members.
In the event, Prof. Dr. Atilla Çağlar, Prof. Dr. Bahattin Aydınlı, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cengiz Baloğlu, Prof. Dr. Engin Kanbur, Assoc. Prof. Erkan Yanarateş, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra Nurten Yer Çelik and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özkan Evcin introduced various aspects of science to the participants. Faculty members took part in the event with a total of 8 different workshops under the titles of ‘I Know You with Artificial Intelligence’, ‘DNA Isolation’, ‘Flight Application with 6 Channel R / C Simulator Control’, ‘Catapult Making’, ‘Vuvuzela Workshop’, ‘Sustainable Future Entrepreneurship’, ‘I Produce Plastic’ and ‘I Know the World of Insects’.
The event aims to provide young generations with scientific thinking skills by supporting Kastamonu University's efforts to spread the culture of science. The Science Festival aims to increase interest in science and technology by offering both instructive and entertaining experiences to the participants.
