While Center Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alaattin Dolu moderated the panel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Can Deveci from Erciyes University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuğçe Ersoy Ceylan from Izmir Kâtip Çelebi University and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin Güneş from Bartın University participated as a guest.
In the panel, the ethnic cleansing policies implemented by Israel in Gaza and the scenarios regarding the future of the region were discussed. In addition, the Israeli-Iranian tension and Lebanon-based Hezbollah and Israeli-Iranian relations were also discussed.
In his speech at the panel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Can Deveci emphasized that the world's public opinion started to question Israel's activities and that 7 October 2023 was a milestone in this process. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin Güneş explained the reflections of the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah on Iran's domestic and foreign policy. Güneş also described the change in Israel's activities as the ‘axis of resistance’ approaching the Israeli border.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuğçe Ersoy Ceylan made evaluations on the differences in Israeli society before and after 7 October. According to Ersoy Ceylan, the main reason for the anti-government protests in Israel was not the Palestinian issue, but the hostages and the ceasefire.
The panel attracted attention with the various perspectives and in-depth analyses of the participants.
