Kastamonu University came together with local action groups operating in Kastamonu to increase cooperation in the field of regional and local development.
At the meeting hosted by Kastamonu University Technology Transfer Office, Forestry and Nature Tourism Specialization Coordination Office and Kastamonu Teknokent, evaluations were made on the joint projects carried out in the past and discussions were held on encouraging a climate of cooperation and developing joint projects in the future.
At the meeting, information was exchanged on Kastamonu University's regional development-oriented studies and the role of local action groups' local development strategies in the projects. At the same time, consultations were held on common goals and priorities to identify future cooperation opportunities.
“We must worry about the problems of our region”
Making the opening speech of the meeting, Kastamonu Teknokent and Technology Transfer Office Deputy General Manager Assoc. Dr. Alperen Kaymakcı said that the important thing in the work to be done together is to primarily deal with the problems of the region.
Continuing his speech, Kaymakcı stated that the work to be carried out together should be project-oriented and that these projects should produce concrete solutions, and drew attention to the importance of feasible projects that add value to the region. At this point, he stated that all local stakeholders should be actively involved in the process for region-specific projects to be successful.

Lecturer Berkan Güngör, who made an informative presentation on past and future activities with Kastamonu University and local action groups at the meeting, reminded that Kastamonu University attaches great importance to cooperation with non-governmental organizations within the scope of regional development-oriented mission differentiation targets.
Emphasizing the issues of education and capacity building to strengthen the qualified human resource potential in the region, Güngör pointed out that the cooperation between the university and local action groups will have increasing effects on social participation.
