Faculty of Health Sciences lecturer Lect. Mücahit Muslu provided nutrition education to approximately 3500 high school students with a total of 22 trainings in 14 different high schools in 3 provinces.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, the project "Creating an Infographic E-guide for the Solution of Nutritional Problems Experienced by High School Students Preparing for the University Examination", which was carried out under the academic consultancy of Mücahit Muslu, Lecturer of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, supported within the scope of TUBITAK 2209A, and under the leadership of our graduate student Dietician Çiğdem Gözübek, was completed.
Within the scope of the project, 400 students from 7 high schools across Kastamonu were interviewed, nutritional problems experienced by students were identified, the literature was reviewed in detail, scientific suggestions were developed for the solution of these problems, the developed suggestions were transformed into infographic designs and evaluated by 12 experts with three different evaluation scales and published publicly on the internet under the name of "Infographic Nutrition e-Guide for High School Students Preparing for University Examination".
With the guide developed after the project, with the approval of the Governorship and Provincial Directorate of National Education, 'Healthy Life and Nutrition Education for High School Students Preparing for University Examination' started to be given to senior high school students throughout Kastamonu. The trainings, which started to be given in the 2022-2023 Academic Spring semester, were continued in the 2023-2024 Academic Fall semester upon the request of the schools. In addition, pilot training was started in Istanbul and Kocaeli. So far, approximately 3500 students have been trained in 14 different high schools in 3 provinces, for a total of 22 trainings.
