"December 7 World Civil Aviation Day" activities organized by Kastamonu University School of Civil Aviation and Aviation Club students were held on December 7, 2023 at the Central Library Cemil Meriç Hall.
The opening speech of the program, which started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, was made by Kastamonu University School of Civil Aviation Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Engin Kanbur.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanbur evaluated the latest situation of the world and our country in the field of civil aviation and shared detailed information about the activities of the School of Civil Aviation. Following the opening speech, State Airports Authority (DHMI) Kastamonu Airport Manager Taylan Öncel, Turkish Airlines Kastamonu Regional Manager Sami Aydoğan, DHMI Air Traffic Controller Salih Burakhan Memiş and HAVAŞ Operations Officer Serkan Öz attended the event as speakers.
In the event moderated by Şafak Aktemur, Research Assistant at the School of Civil Aviation, the speakers gave advice about the career opportunities that young aviators are curious about, the competencies they should have and the positions they can work after graduation.
The event also featured an aviation quiz competition for students, and the winners were awarded with prizes. The event ended with a collective photo session after the participants were presented with a plaque of appreciation.
