Kastamonu University Faculty of Education undergraduate programs in Science Teaching, Elementary Mathematics Teaching, Classroom Teaching, and Social Studies Teaching were accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs (EPDAD) for 3+2 years. The accreditation will remain valid until May 1, 2028. With the certification granted by EPDAD, the qualified and deep-rooted education approach of the Faculty of Education in teaching has been registered once again.
Expressing that the simultaneous accreditation of four programs is an excellent source of happiness and pride, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kaçar, emphasized that this success results from a strong academic staff, a student-centered approach, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Thanking the faculty members, lecturers, and research assistants who contributed to the accreditation process, as well as our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal for his support, Prof. Dr. Kaçar stated, "This process not only evaluates the current situation but also aims for our programs to achieve sustainable quality at both national and international levels."The work being done will also significantly contribute to the increase in our graduates' professional qualifications and employment opportunities," he said.
Prof. Dr. Kaçar stated that the accreditation studies at the faculty will continue with the Turkish Language Teaching and Preschool Teaching undergraduate programs, whose applications were accepted in 2025, and that this is an indicator of the importance that our University and the faculty attach to the quality of education. He added that efforts will continue with determination to improve academic standards in teacher training continuously.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, who evaluated the subject, thanked all the academic and administrative staff, especially Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kaçar, for this success certified by EPDAD. Stating that this success was made possible through dedicated efforts, our Rector emphasized that the support of the students and graduates who contributed to the process was also extremely valuable.
“Accreditation is not only a document; it is also an indicator of quality assurance, continuous development and recognition at national/international level,” said our Rector, adding that this process, which contributes to the training of teacher candidates, will enable the training of individuals who make a difference in the world of education.
Stating that efforts will continue to improve academic standards continuously, our Rector thanked the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the members of the Council of Higher Education for their support in this process. He also thanked Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, Chairman of the Higher Education Quality Board, and the board members for their efforts to promote the quality culture in higher education.
