According to the scientific evaluation results of TUBITAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program 2024/1 Period, our University ranked 16th among the universities in Turkey with 262 projects and achieved great success. In addition, all applications made within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2209 University Students Research Projects Support Program for Industry were entitled to be supported.
The results of the scientific evaluation of the 2024 1st Term Call of the 2209-A and 2209-B programs, which aim to encourage undergraduate and associate degree students studying at universities to conduct research through projects carried out by the TUBITAK Scientist Support Programs Directorate (BİDEB), were announced. Accordingly, our University continued its rise with 262 projects, surpassing its success in the 2209-A program in the previous period.
All Projects for Industry Supported
In 3 projects accepted within the scope of TUBITAK 2209-B Research Projects for Industry Support Program, students will conduct practical research in cooperation with industrial organizations under the guidance of consultant lecturers. With these projects, businesses operating in our province will be supported and contribute to developing university-industry collaboration.
Rector “Our R&D Culture is Strengthening”
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, reminded us that 195 projects were accepted in the 2023/2 period within the scope of the 2209-A program, and stated that this number increased to 262 in the 2024/1 period, and our University reached 16th place in Turkey.
Stating that the efforts to spread the R&D and project culture throughout our University have yielded results, our Rector emphasized that there has been a significant increase in the number of applications from our faculties and vocational schools and that TÜBİTAK supports at least one project from each academic unit. In this way, he said that they aim to provide our students with theoretical knowledge and the ability to produce sustainable and feasible R&D projects.
Stating that this approach will contribute to regional and national development, especially in our province, our Rector congratulated the students whose projects were supported and our advisor academicians and wished them success.
