To foster a sense of unity and togetherness among students during the holy month of Ramadan, “Ramadan Festivities” were organized at Kastamonu University. The event, coordinated by the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports, occurred on March 24, 2025, at the Main Dining Hall and the Ay Yıldız Sports and Life Center.
The first part of the program featured an iftar dinner held at the Main Dining Hall, where university administrators and students came together. The event was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, and Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaymakçı, as well as local philanthropists from Kastamonu who generously provided free iftar meals for students throughout Ramadan.
Before the iftar, the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan was emphasized, highlighting the values of sharing, solidarity, and unity. Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal expressed his gratitude to the supporting business owners and all participants, stating that Ramadan is a month of blessing and compassion.
As the call to prayer marked the time for breaking the fast, participants enjoyed the iftar meal together. After dinner, students socialized and shared in the spiritual ambiance of Ramadan, accompanied by music.
In the second part of the event, various sports competitions were held at the Ay Yıldız Sports and Life Center. Students competed in volleyball, basketball, football, tennis, table tennis, and bowling, engaging in friendly yet spirited matches. The competitions allowed students to have fun and spend time together in the spirit of Ramadan.
