A promotional event was held at Kastamonu University on March 19, 2025, within the scope of the UNIDES Program supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (GSB). Deputy Director General of Youth Services Tarık Karkınçam, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaymakcı, Kastamonu Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Sami Kuşcu, GSB General Directorate of Youth Services Head of International Youth Programs Department Feyyaz Soydoğan and Head of Health, Culture and Sports Department Mehmet Sena Aygül attended the event held at Ay Yıldız Sports and Life Center.
Student Communities Introduced Their Projects
Tarık Karkınçam, Deputy Director General of Youth Services, who came to Kastamonu to participate in the “Campus Iftars” program organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at our University, met with the student communities that received support and applied for the event. Community representatives had the opportunity to introduce their projects and activities at the stands allocated to them.
Protocol members visited the stands individually, chatted with the students, and received detailed project information. Afterward, community representatives and students came together at the “UNIDES Meeting.”
Importance of UNIDES Program Emphasized
At the event, Tarık Karkınçam, Deputy Director General of Youth Services, emphasized the importance of student communities in young people's social and cultural development. Stating that the UNIDES Program offers an excellent opportunity for young people to improve themselves, Karkınçam said that the supported projects will significantly contribute to different fields. He also added that our university has a vivacious and energetic atmosphere.
Our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaymakcı, stated that they will continue to support student communities and emphasized that young people make significant contributions to their personal and academic development with such projects. He said that our university will continue to provide the necessary support for students to take a more active role in social, cultural, and academic activities.
Students came together at the Iftar Program. After the promotional event, an Iftar program was organized in the Central Dining Hall. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Kastamonu Deputy Governor V. Çetin Kılınç, Deputy General Director of Youth Services Tarık Karkınçam, Kastamonu Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Sami Kuşcu and Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaymakcı and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan attended the program.
The Iftar organization, where the board members and representatives of the student communities and students came together, took place in a friendly atmosphere.
