According to Webometrics World Universities Ranking 2025 results, Kastamonu University ranked 2278th worldwide, making total progress of 681 steps in the last three years. Thanks to improvements in academic productivity, digital visibility, and open access policies, a steady rise in the ranking of our University was observed.
In 2022, our University ranked 2959th in the world ranking and rose to 2619th in 2023 and 2429th in 2024. In 2025, it reached 2278th place and made 151 more steps than last year. Although the exact data on Turkey's ranking has not yet been announced, this rise is considered a positive national development.
Commenting on the issue, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that the efforts carried out to increase the academic performance of the university have yielded positive results and said, “In recent years, we continue to see the effects of our projects that encourage scientific productivity, our research and the importance we attach to open access and the strengthening of our digital infrastructure. I want to thank our academics, researchers, colleagues, and stakeholders who contributed to this process. We will continue our efforts to create a stronger academic identity.”
Our university aims to advance in academic rankings in the coming years with its support for scientific research and digital transformation efforts.
