Kastamonu University rose 123 places to 2,164th place in the 2024-2025 World Ranking prepared by URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) Research Laboratory operating under the Middle East Technical University (METU) Informatics Institute. In the last five years, it has achieved significant success by making a total progress of 327 places.
URAP Research Laboratory created the world ranking by evaluating universities according to scientific publication quality, number of articles, citation rates, the total number of scientific documents, publication, citation impact, and international cooperation. This year, while 3 thousand universities worldwide were included in the list, 208 universities from Turkey were included in the ranking. While only 122 were included in the world ranking, our university ranked 66th.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that the rise of our University in the World Ranking is pleasing and that the increase in the number and quality of scientific publications contributes to success in the national and international arena. He emphasized that the studies will be continued with determination for the continuation of this rise.
In addition, our Rector congratulated our academic and administrative staff and students who contributed to the development of our University and thanked the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, YÖK members and TÜBİTAK President, Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın for their support to our University. He stated that these contributions play an essential role in increasing the visibility of our University in the international arena.
