Kastamonu University Senate held its first meeting of 2025 under the chairmanship of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal. Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, Secretary General V. Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Demirbaş, and senate members attended the meeting held in the Senate Hall of our university.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, wished the first senate meeting of the new year to be auspicious and made statements about the goals and planned studies for 2025. Pointing out that our university should proceed with a quality-oriented approach in academic and administrative fields, our Rector emphasized the importance of scientific studies reaching international standards. He also stated that the studies to be carried out to strengthen the understanding of excellence in education will become more effective with the cooperation of all units.
Following the speech of our Rector, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük made an informative presentation on the essential criteria and innovations regarding the Kastamonu University Directive on the Principles of Promotion and Appointment to Faculty Members.
At the meeting, a presentation titled TEKNOFEST Competitions and BAP Project Support was made by Dr Erman Zurnacı, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MMF) Faculty Member. Dr Zurnacı gave comprehensive information about the TEKNOFEST competition categories, the projects that university students and academicians can participate in on this platform, and how Scientific Research Projects (BAP) support can be used.
The Senate meeting ended after discussing the agenda items and the decisions taken.
