The Unilig Volleyball Regional League, organized by the University Sports Federation of Turkey, is hosted by Kastamonu University between 9-13 December 2024.
A total of 10 teams participated in the organization, including men's and women's volleyball teams from our university, Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Karabük University, and Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University.
The opening ceremony of the organization was held on 9 December 2024 at Ay Yıldız Sports and Life Centre and in addition to our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Baydil, Head of Health, Culture and Sports Department Mehmet Sena Aygül, academicians, athletes, and spectators attended the ceremony.
In his opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal stated that inter-university sports reinforce student friendship and solidarity. He also said that sports bring essential values such as discipline and perseverance and wish success to all teams.
After the opening ceremony, the competitions started. The final matches of the regional league will be played on 13 December 2024.
