Kastamonu University has achieved significant success in the international arena by taking place in the 301-350 band in the 2025 Interdisciplinary Science Ranking (ISR) announced by Times Higher Education (THE). In this ranking, where 749 universities from 92 countries were evaluated, 45 universities from Turkey took place. Kastamonu University ranked 13th in Turkey's ranking.
The ranking announced by THE in November 2024 evaluates universities on three main criteria: inputs (19%), processes (16%), and outputs (65%). Kastamonu University ranked 18th in the input category, 6th in the process category, and 17th in the output category.
Interdisciplinary science aims to solve global issues by bringing together the knowledge and methods of different disciplines—Kastamonu University endeavors to continue its projects and academic studies in this field.
