The ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of Kastamonu Ahmet Atılkan, Mayor of Kastamonu Hasan Baltacı, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, Chairman of the Muhammed İhsan Oğuz Foundation M. İhsan Oğuz, as well as invited guests, academics, and students.
Opening speeches were delivered by M. İhsan Oğuz on behalf of the Muhammed İhsan Oğuz Foundation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aykaç on behalf of the Muhammed İhsan Oğuz Research and Application Center, and our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal.
In his speech, M. İhsan Oğuz highlighted the Foundation’s efforts to support scientific research in the field of theology, contributing to the religious and cultural development of society. He emphasized that studies in theology help shape the spiritual dimensions of societies and expressed his pleasure in supporting young researchers through this competition.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aykaç stressed the importance the Center places on such events and mentioned that they have developed various projects to encourage theological studies. He expressed hope that competitions like this would inspire new ideas.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, underscored the support Kastamonu University provides for scientific research and noted that the university has a strong academic foundation in the field of theology. He emphasized that theological studies are not just an academic endeavor but also a societal and cultural responsibility. He reminded the audience that Islamic civilization has always placed great importance on knowledge and wisdom throughout history. Rector Topal also stressed that these studies should not be limited to theoretical knowledge but should aim to address contemporary social issues.
He congratulated the young scholars who received awards for their contributions to Islamic culture and civilization and highlighted how their work serves to deepen understanding of core Islamic issues while seeking solutions to modern challenges. He also thanked the advisors who guided these researchers and expressed gratitude to the Muhammed İhsan Oğuz Foundation and the Muhammed İhsan Oğuz Research and Application Center for their contributions to the competition, emphasizing the significant role this collaboration plays in advancing both the university’s and theological studies.
After the opening speeches, awards were presented to the researchers and their advisors who excelled with their master's and doctoral theses. The program concluded with a group photo.
